Educational Groups
Education is a primary focus of CCC's mission to provide a continence promotion program that is comprehensive and individualized that includes the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques.
CCC offers educational programs for anyone suffering from loss of bladder control. The center also offers customized programs for those individuals who are caring for a relative or friend suffering from incontinence.
CCC provides public service education through the following sources:
- Senior citizen organizations, local and regional
- Hospital sponsored organizations
- Healthcare professionals
- physician grand rounds
- home health agencies
- nursing staff at medical offices in the community
- nursing home directors
- hospital discharge planners
- Long term care facilities
- administrative directors
- directors of nursing
- professional and non-licensed staff
Support Groups
CCC offers a series of lectures that feature presentations by healthcare professionals in their various areas of expertise. Group members gain the latest medical knowledge about incontinence, its causes, and the available treatments, cures and/or management techniques.
Lectures include such topics as:
- Quality of life issues
- Etiology of incontinence
- Women's health issues Lifestyle considerations
- Cures, treatments and management techniques
- Exercise programs for strengthening pelvic musculature
- Biofeedback and electrical stimulation
- Diet and fluid management
- Medical products and devices
CCC works with other healthcare professionals to establish guidelines for continence management. The center also works closely with healthcare organizations to develop mentorship programs.
CCC offers annual screenings for bladder cancer and incontinence, at no charge to the patient.
